Denmark's King Frederick X and Queen Mary are received by the mayor of the Qeqertalik municipality, Ane Hansen, municipal council members Simigaq Heilmann and Karl Thue Nathanielsen and children's council member Arnannguaq Wille upon arrival at the Royal Bridge in Qeqertarsuaq in Greenland, on June 30, 2024. The town of Qeqertarsuaq is located on Greenland's largest island of the same name, also known as Disko Island. Qeqertarsuaq is home to the Arctic research station, which aims to promote Arctic natural science research. The new whale microphone provides insight into the presence of marine mammals in Disko Bay.
