Dutch professor Dr Dariu Gavrila, head of the Intelligent Vehicles section in the Mechanical Engineering Faculty at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) looks on in Delft, on January 13, 2025. Sudents from the Delft faculty have developed the TU Delft SenseBike, which can capture its environment and detect objects, such as cars and pedestrians. Using an array of sensors consisting of lidars, cameras, IMU and RTK navigation systems, the SenseBike performs simultaneous localization and mapping. The data produced will help TU Delft researchers to design safer cities for cyclists. (Photo by Nick Gammon / AFP) (Photo by NICK GAMMON/AFP via Getty Images)
