Finland pulled the plug on landline telephone calls after the operator of the last major fixed-line network ended the service with a ceremonial final chat. The end of the line came after Elisa, the country's last major telecom operator with a fixed-line network, discontinued its services. The last person to pick up the phone on the network was Jarkko Saarimaki, head of the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom, at Elisa's telephone museum in Helsinki. At the other end of the line in London was Elisa CEO Topi Manner. (Photo by Jade Silpo / Lehtikuva / AFP via Getty Images) / Finland OUT
