A shooting in downtown Minneapolis leaves multiple people wounded, authorities say
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Authorities were responding to a shooting in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday afternoon with multiple victims, including two police officers, according to officials.
The Minneapolis Police Department warned the public to stay away from the area.
No additional information was immediately released about the number of victims and their condition.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said in a post on social media that state officials are on the ground helping local law enforcement respond to the shooting.
“Grateful to law enforcement actively working to ensure the safety of our neighbors in Downtown Minneapolis this afternoon," Walz said. "Minnesota is praying for our first responders.”
